The series one winner said that Richardson, who was eliminated from the ITV1 programme on Sunday night, was "doomed" to failure by Louis Walsh and his mentor Dannii Minogue.
Writing in his London 24 blog, the singer said: "Paije has had to endure silly songs, silly outfits and silly comments from Louis. He was doomed."
Commenting on Louis Walsh's unusual comparisons between Richardson and Lenny Henry, he added: "I may have joked about the Lenny Henry reference, but yet again this week Louis managed to describe Paije as Lenny Henry along with Luther Vandross and Marvin Gaye. Why the need to compare him to these great singers and a comedian?
"If you are a soul fan then comparison to the greatest vocalists who ever lived isn't going to get you to vote for Paije.
"I'm also sure the Lenny Henry comment won't motivate viewers to make that call either. I can't see Simon [Cowell] comparing One Direction to The Beatles or suggesting Rebecca [Ferguson] is the next Gladys Knight."
