Cowell responds to 'X Factor' critics

Simon Cowell has responded to critics of The X Factor.

Stars including Elton John and Paul Weller have complained about the series recently but Cowell praised the show for getting people excited about music.

Cowell also hinted that he is working on a new music-based television show and claimed that The X Factor has revitalised the industry.
