The 2005 winner told OK that he feels the former painter and director stands the biggest chance of being crowned the champion.
He said: "I think Matt's gonna win it. He's a lot of people’s favourites at the minute."
However, Ward added that the decision may be close between three of the finalists.
He said: "It's a weird one because everyone is liking One Direction as well. And Rebecca's got her strong fanbase. But ultimately I think Matt's going to top it all."
The X Factor final starts tomorrow at 7pm on ITV1.
