Cher Lloyd: 'I was blessed with Cheryl'

Cher Lloyd has praised her X Factor mentor Cheryl Cole last night, despite becoming the first act eliminated from this year's final.

The 17-year-old from Malvern said that she felt honoured to get to work with the Girls Aloud star every week on the show.

"I was blessed. It was perfect," she said on The Xtra Factor. "She understood me, I think. More as a friend... someone I could talk to if I was having a bad day."

Speaking about comparisons between her and Cole, she added: "Do you know what? I'm my own person. I’m very different. I'm flattered to be compared, but I am my own person."

Lloyd also revealed that she is backing Matt Cardle to go on and win the ITV1 show.
