Speaking on today's Loose Women, the ex-Wham! singer ruled out any possible judging role on the show, after The Sun reported that he had agreed to a £75,000 deal to appear on one edition.
He revealed in a live phone interview: "I couldn't be involved in the bit where they take the mickey out of people. I understand how terrifying and heartbreaking auditions are, particularly if you're really young.
"I could never be involved in that part - maybe some mentoring thing, I don't know, but I couldn't be involved in the cruel part."
A source had earlier claimed: "If Simon [Cowell] and Cheryl [Cole] decide not to take part it will give people something to talk about."
The star's Comic Relief cover of New Order's 1987 hit 'True Faith' is currently at number 32 in the UK singles charts.
It was also reported earlier today that last year's guest judge Nicole Scherzinger is in line to replace Cole on the UK version of The X Factor.
