Brucknell, who appeared at the London auditions last week, caused a stir with her "quirky personality".
Gary Barlow described her as an "amazing vocalist" and Kelly Rowland praised her determination, but her audition went off on a tangent after the judges' comments. The singer sat cross-legged on the stage and gave a speech to the audience, sparking comparisons to Waissel.
Following Brucknell's rant about feeling "blessed", Tulisa Contostavlos said: "You remind me of Katie Waissel. You have a very quirky personality." Louis Walsh joked: "You do talk a lot."
Brucknell has responded to the reports about her performance on her MySpace blog, insisting that she didn't care what people wrote about her.
"Yes - I am a quirky and eccentric kinda girl, and I don't care. I talk a lot when I get nervous, I probably did make a complete tw*t of myself on stage... BUT... I got to sing at the O2! (sic)" she wrote.
"I mean, there's no comprehension as to how amazing it feels to stand on a stage like that in front of 5,000 people and sing your heart out.
"I was literally shocked - I didn't know how to speak right, or say anything without thinking first. Plus it was a total dream of mine. Even if I get cut from the show next week... I'll always treasure that memory - I can't believe it... really."
She added: "I promise I will not totally p*ss off the great British public by talking too much next time, ok? Have learned my lesson the hard way. Shall I bring Team Kitty to bootcamp? YEAH! Lets do it..."
X Factor auditions continue in Liverpool today.
