Louis ejects Rebecca, James from 'X Factor'

The pair had performed Michael Jackson's 'The Way You Make Me Feel' to almost unanimous praise from the judges earlier in the show. Simon commented that "this competition would not be the same without you," whilst Louis dubbed them "the UK's answer to Sonny and Cher".
However, their rendition clearly did not impress enough to keep them in the competition when the duo went head to head with Nikki Sanderson. Nikki, who had opened the show with Britney Spears' cover of 'I Love Rock and Roll', was kept in the contest by Louis on the merit of her talent.
After almost being shown the door the previous night, Lucy Benjamin delivered the most well-received performance of the evening. Her take on 'See The Day' by Girls Aloud prompted Simon to enthuse: "That was the best of the night by a mile."
