Kelly Rowland learnt of Frankie Cocozza's X Factor exit while being interviewed by a reporter.
Rowland was left visibly gobsmacked during an interview with an ITN journalist who questioned her over the contestant's departure.
After her initial shock, the Destiny's Child singer and talent show judge then turned to her PR assistant and said: "Poor guy."
Cocozza was axed earlier today by producers after breaking competition rules. A report has since claimed that he had boasted about snorting cocaine to production staff.
Gary Barlow has already expressed his "disappointment" in the 18-year-old, who has been embroiled in controversy in the past few weeks.
