The four-piece - Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall - told Digital Spy that they hope to match the '90s pop act with their performances and style.
"We like to see ourselves as a modern day Spice Girls. The Spice Girls all had individual personalities and girls can relate to a different one." said Perrie.
"I think they were approachable as a girl group and you wanted to be their friends. That's what we want to go for."
The girls have even given themselves Spice Girl-esque nicknames. Jesy has claimed that she is 'Sporty', Leigh-Anne bagged 'Scary', Jade is 'Baby', while the girls have claimed that Perrie is their equivalent of 'Ginger Spice' Geri Halliwell.
"I'd say Geri because you're crazy," joked Jesy.
Little Mix will be giving a stripped back performance on this weekend's X Factor Movies Week, following criticism from Gary Barlow last weekend.
The X Factor continues on Saturday (November 19) at 8.15pm on ITV1.
