Little Mix triumphed over Marcus Collins, the final 16 (minus Frankie, plus Goldie) returned and Westlife made their last TV appearance. The X Factor 2011 final being held at Wembley Arena for the first time was quite a big deal - and certainly a fitting spectacle for the biggest TV show in the UK.
A girlband won the show for the first time ever, there were plenty of tears and Louis Walsh dug out his best Hugh Hefner-esque dinner jacket especially for the occasion.
Simon Cowell in his LA mansion approved of the final result and after a barnstorming 'Don't Let Go (Love)' and first play of Little Mix's winner's single, a cover of Damien Rice's 'Canonball', who can blame him? The X Factor looks like it has some potential superstars on its hands.
