BBC One's coverage of the Royal Wedding reached an audience of 13.5 million and was the most-watched show if all channels are included. However, The X Factor topped the single programme top ten following its 13.7 million ratings for the December 11 finale, reports The Guardian.
The rest of the top ten included ITV1's reality show hits I'm a Celebrity and Britain's Got Talent, BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing, the Valentine's Day episode of Coronation Street and EastEnders.
ITV1's Downton Abbey and Doc Martin were the highest ranking dramas of the year.
The list is expected to change before the end of the year when festive episodes of Doctor Who, Downton Abbey, EastEnders and Absolutely Fabulous air.
The X Factor topped the 2010 list with 17.7 million, while Britain's Got Talent was the 2009 winner with 18.3 million.
