According to The Mirror, the 'Down For Whatever' singer told Simon Cowell that she could not cope with the intense scrutiny placed upon the show.
However, a spokesperson for Rowland told Digital Spy: "Kelly loved being here in the UK and enjoyed every minute of the show especially mentoring her girls. Conversations haven't started yet so it's too early to say what's going to happen this year."
The original report indicated that the Destiny's Child star was ready to move on, with an insider claiming: "She enjoyed her time on the programme but was taken aback by the circus surrounding it. From his side, Simon [Cowell] felt that Kelly had got off to a really strong start but slightly faded towards the latter half of the series."
They added: "He is already on the look-out for fresh talent."
Also responding to the claims, an X Factor spokesperson added: "No decisions have been made or discussions been had about next year's shows involving judges."
Rowland had suggested recently that she is happy to return to The X Factor, even claiming that she would move to the UK for the show.
Fellow judge Gary Barlow previously hinted at an X Factor exit by saying he wanted to spend more time with his family in 2012, while veteran panellist Louis Walsh stated that the show is "no fun" anymore.
