'X Factor': Gary Barlow hints at Dannii Minogue judging role

By
X Factor star Gary Barlow has seemingly hinted that Dannii Minogue could still be in the running to join the panel.

The Australian singer, who judged The X Factor between 2007 and 2010, was heavily tipped to replace departed judge Kelly Rowland on this year's contest, but she reportedly rejected a £1m offer.

Guest judges have been drafted in for the first rounds of auditions, with a full-time judge expected to be appointed later in the series.

Asked if Minogue could still join Tulisa Contostavlos, Louis Walsh and himself on the panel, Barlow teased: "Well, you never know, you never know... We've had a few hints [about the fourth judge] but we're not completely sure. I think we're gonna know any day."

The Take That star added that he had enjoyed his time with previous X Factor guest judges Geri Halliwell, Leona Lewis and Rita Ora.

"I think people think Leona's a bit bland but she was great fun, even though she got booed," he told Metro. "I had to tell her beforehand, 'Don't let the audience sway you 'cause they're a brutal crowd at the auditions', and she stuck to her guns.

"We also had Geri in Liverpool, who was crazy and lived up to expectations, and we've had Rita Ora for the last couple of days who has been really great."

It has been claimed that Minogue rejected the X Factor deal as she didn't want to reunite with former lover Simon Cowell or disturb the "little routine" of her 10-month-old son Ethan, whose father is her ex-partner Kris Smith.
