'X Factor' top 6: What the judges said
Published Saturday, Nov 18 2006, 19:59 GMT | By Neil Wilkes
The remaining six X Factor finalists took to the stage again tonight for a number ones-themed performances show.
Here's what the judges had to say:
Ray - 'Livin' La Vida Loca'
Sharon: "Very confident. As usual, very confident no matter what we've thrown at you. You always come back with confidence. But I think you have a corny voice in you."
Louis: "You're a lovely guy, a great dancer and you've got a great smile. My only problem is your voice isn't good enough. You'd be great in the West End."
Simon: "That's a bit rich coming from you, talking about quality of vocals on the show. I'm not going to say you are the best singer in the show because you're not, so you have to work with what you've got. You came out and gave it 110%."
Robert - 'You Are Not Alone'
Louis: "I thought you stole the show last week, unbelievable. Tonight you did an amazing job. You're amazing, you're professional, you're passionate."
Simon: "You were very very good last week and actually you had another very good week again. I'm not sure it was the perfect song for you, it sounded a little old-fashioned, but ever since you took my advice to stop running around the stage you've done a lot better."
Sharon: "The one thing about you is that each week you get better and better and better. Stay on the same level. More power to you, you're blowing everyone away."
Eton Road - 'I Don't Feel Like Dancin''
Simon: "I've been in America for a week and you've obviously been spending a lot of time with Louis. It kind of worked but there were some individual vocals throughout that were simply not good enough. I don't think individually that was good enough."
Sharon: "I know what everybody's been going through this week, I've been sick too. Love you guys, you were fantastic, the whole room loved it."
Louis: "I think you're the only contemporary music act in this competition. You bring glitter and sparkle."
Leona - 'Bridge Over Troubled Water'
Sharon: "Another faultless performance, completely faultless. You are the queen of the ballads, it's amazing. Just fantastic."
Louis: "You look like a star, you sing like a star. But you always sing the ballads, I want you to do something more contemporary. I think your mentor is in a bit of a timewarp."
Sharon: "Louis that was pathetic. Just for once, shut up. I have been in America all week long and everywhere I go in America, it's buzzing about you at the moment. What was fantastic tonight was that it wasn't a karaoke version of the song. Vote for the talent, please!"
Ben - 'I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends'
Louis: "Last week wasn't great, you were back on form tonight. There's a gap in the market in the UK for a young Joe Cocker."
Simon: "That was very good. I have to say, what I've heard so far, you and Leona in a final would probably be the best final we've ever had on one of these shows."
Sharon: "You were brilliant tonight. You're fantastic."
The MacDonald Brothers - 'Love Is All Around'
Sharon: "Very nice. Very nice."
Simon: "It is one of the most boring songs of all time. Within the context of this show now, it was utterly pointless. With respect, it's a sympathy vote."
Louis: "Craig and Brian are the two most genuine people in this competition. What you see is what you get."
