The Sun quotes an insider on the ITV1 show as saying: "They have been checking her out each week on the show because there’s been a real buzz around her out there. They made contact and invited her to come and be a guest."
The source added: "It’s a massive boost for Leona because Ellen’s show is huge in America and you have to be pretty special to get on."
On Saturday's edition of the talent show, Lewis' mentor Simon Cowell told her: "Everyone is buzzing about you in America."
