It was reported earlier this year by the tabloids that Pink impersonator Zoe Alexander had an emotional breakdown on the stage after being snubbed by the judges.
Alexander had a tantrum on stage and pushed a cameraman and producers. She told the press that she felt "suicidal" after the audition.
Speaking about their dealings with the young singer at yesterday's series nine launch, Tulisa said: "I didn't fear for my safety. I feared for Louis's.
"She seemed like a tough cookie and out of all the judges, I thought Louis was the one who probably needed defending."
Walsh claimed that he was stunned by the singer's behaviour, commenting: "We were nice to her! She came out looking like Pink and she sang a Pink song."
The X Factor series nine launches on Saturday at 8pm on ITV1.
