The 18-year-old singer, who will compete against Leona Lewis in tonight's final, has admitted that he couldn't help getting emotional after performing You'll Never Walk Alone in the semi-final.
"They were genuine, not tactical," he told The Mirror. "I wear my heart on my sleeve. That was my grandad Arthur's favourite song. He died before I was born. I called my Nan to tell her I was singing it - she's just got out of hospital so wasn't there last week, but she's coming to the final tonight and is so proud."
