'X Factor' first live show timings confirmed: No 'Strictly' clash

The timings have been confirmed for The X Factor's first live shows of 2012.

The first live show of the year is on Saturday, October 6 and takes place from 8pm-10.20pm on ITV1.

On Sunday, October 7, the first results show takes place from 8pm-9pm and features performances from Leona Lewis and Ne-Yo.

That week's episodes of Strictly Come Dancing air on Friday, October 5 from 9pm-10pm, and on Saturday, October 6 at 6.30pm-7.45pm.

X Factor's Boot Camp weekend started with 7.9 million viewers - 8.3 million with +1 figures included - for its Saturday edition.

A week earlier, Strictly's launch show scored similar ratings to The X Factor.

The BBC dance competition attracted a peak audience of 9.8 million, 300,000 more than its ITV rival, but The X Factor won a higher average audience throughout the night, achieving a viewership of 8.6 million compared to Strictly's 8 million.

With ITV1+1 ratings added, the talent show's peak audience rises to around 10 million, while its average also rises to 9 million.
