The Liverpool singer, who didn't make Gary Barlow's Top 3 at Judges' Houses, insisted that he wouldn't let his nerves get in the way if people give him a second chance on the ITV1 talent show.
Watch the X Factor wildcard Chris Maloney talking to Digital Spy:
"All I can say to them is pick up the phone and vote for me. I won't let nerves get in my way. I'm not going to let people down," said Maloney.
"Over the months, I've grown a lot stronger."
Speaking about his relationship with Barlow, he added: "I'm in his top four. He's taken me out for dinner. He's really hands-on. He's arranging the music, arranging the songs. He's doing a lot for me. He wants me to go through. We're on a bit of a public campaign this week.
"This is my one and only chance and I've got a lifeline here."
Maloney, Amy Mottram, Adam Burridge and Times Red are the four acts hoping to be voted into the show as a wildcard. Dermot O'Leary will announce the winner at the start of Saturday's first live show.
