The reality TV personality said that Clark, who received death threats after being put through to the live stages by Nicole Scherzinger, "deserves" to be on the show.
"I'm so happy that Rylan Clark has made the X Factor live finals," she wrote in her New column. "I'm a huge fan, and not just because he's from Essex, but because he's really talented.
"Rylan was getting a lot of stick on Twitter... But I think he deserves his place - he can sing and he has a really good personality."
Childs also suggested that Clark could be a natural successor to her fellow Celebrity Big Brother housemates Jedward, who found fame on The X Factor in 2009.
"Rylan will bring so much fun to the show, a bit like Jedward did a few years ago," she declared.
"No matter how he does, he'll be remembered, while some of the others are likely to be forgotten."
Scherzinger recently defended Clark's progression on The X Factor, stating that the failed Big Brother applicant has "improved so much".
"Someone who is willing to work that hard, it means that much to them, you know you're going to get everything out of them," she argued.
