One Direction's Louis Tomlinson has revealed that the group are hoping to make a return to The X Factor.

The boyband made a brief appearance on Saturday's first Live Show (October 6), but Tomlinson stated that they would like to perform on the main stage before Christmas.

"It's really weird being back on the X Factor stage," he told The Sun.

"Walking through those doors always made us nervous and it kinda feels like you're back in the competition."

Tomlinson continued that being back on the main stage felt like "home", after the hugely popular group first made their name on the ITV competition in 2010.

"Being interviewed by Dermot O'Leary brings all the old nerves back," he explained.

"We would love to come back and perform before Christmas. The X Factor is our home and we love it."

After originally tipping James Arthur to win this year's show, Tomlinson admitted that Ella Henderson may now be his favourite.

He said: "Ella blew us all away. We thought she was amazing."

One Direction won three prizes at BBC Radio 1's Teen Awards yesterday (October 7).

Their latest single 'Live While We're Young' reached number three in the UK singles chart yesterday, below Rihanna and Psy.
