"I'd love to do a serious song, in maybe one or two more weeks," Clark told Digital Spy and other journalists. "I don't think I've got the chance - through my part not through the show's part - to show my serious side. I just think I need to have a bit more confidence in myself."

Speaking of his controversial stint on The X Factor, he added: "I've just been brought up to think if there is an opportunity, take it and hope for the best.

"I've done the same process as everyone else. I've worked my arse off, if not more than some people that are still here because I've had to prove a lot more.

"All these people that sit behind a computer and want to be arseholes, f**king let them sit there, have 14 kids - good luck to you. I'm doing something with my life, I'm not bothered."

Clark also insisted that, despite his feud with Gary Barlow on the show, he has "all the respect in the world" for the judge.

"He's wicked. I love Gary to bits, he's a lovely boy," he concluded. "There's been a lot of press this week saying that I said certain things and we all know that's not f**king true."

Clark recently admitted that he was "so drunk" when he and Lucy Spraggan got kicked out of London's Corinthia Hotel earlier this week.
