Talking about the past week, Douglas said: "Life's not been great, and I guess it's a good thing the story's come out in the papers. I'm just relieved I don't have to carry it in myself anymore."
He continued to speak about his nervous demeanour, adding: "It's the only way I cope - to keep smiling and keep laughing - because otherwise I cry."
Speaking about his childhood, Douglas said: "I was locked away in the house and I'd just listen to Whitney Houston and sing along."
Douglas then spoke about his mother Mandy, adding: "All my life I've just wanted to make my mum happy because she's been through more than any woman can bear.
"You can still have your happiness - don't let anybody take that away."
Following his performance of Aretha Franklin's 'I Say a Little Prayer' on Club Classics week, Nicole Scherzinger said: "You've come from such a dark past and now you're going to help other people. From the bottom of my heart I'm here for you."
Douglas began to cry when Tulisa told him that his "whole life has been building up to this moment and this is all happening for a reason".
Host Dermot O'Leary asked Douglas what he wanted to say to his supporters, and he replied: "Just thank you."
