The judge - who this year is mentoring the Groups category - confirmed that he is not a fan of the 34-year-old Liverpudlian and called his singing and performance style "old fashioned".
"I'm not into cabaret artists," Walsh told itv.com. "Christopher Maloney is very dated and old fashioned. He's like Cilla Black!"
The music manager also weighed in on the feud between Gary Barlow and Tulisa Contostavlos, after the Take That star moaned about his fellow panellist's "fag ash breath" live on air.
"I was shocked!" he admitted. "I do always smell cigarette smoke on her [but] I would never say that to Tulisa.
"I couldn't believe Sir Gary Barlow said that. He definitely let his Mr Nice Guy mask slip!"
Walsh continued: "He wants a knighthood [and] I reckon he's blown his chances. We could well be looking at Dame Tulisa instead now!"
When asked what he thought provoked the comments, Walsh said: "[Gary] couldn't handle the truth. Tulisa was right to have a go at him about his dated song choices for Christopher. He just couldn't accept it.
"There was a really frosty atmosphere after Saturday's show. This one is going to run and run."
Despite her alleged fall-out with Barlow, Walsh revealed that Tulisa and new judge Nicole Scherzinger get on well.
"Tulisa and Nicole are getting on better than any other female judges have done in the past," he said.
"No catfights as of yet! It's a walk in the park compared to the year when Sharon and Dannii were judges. Those two really didn't get on. It was like a battle of the divas!"
Earlier this week, Tulisa told Digital Spy that Barlow made the personal remarks to play on her insecurities.
"The truth is, Gary had nothing to say," she admitted. "That was his comeback. He knows it's something I'm paranoid about as a smoker, so that's why he said it. I'm over it now, though."
The X Factor continues tomorrow (November 3) at 8.20pm on ITV1.
