However, Maloney defended his position on the ITV1 talent contest and thanked viewers for continuing to show faith in him, despite a barrage of criticism from the judges.
"I know Ella's going to be big. She's going to be massive. She's got a bit future ahead of her," he told Xtra Factor.
"People are voting for who they want to win and I'm just so grateful I've got loyal supporters. I can't thank them enough.

"Ella's a great girl and a fantastic singer. Ella was brought in by the judges. I was brought in as the public choice, I was the wildcard - and the public have stayed with me.
"I just can't thank them enough. I just hope I deserve a place in the competition. I'm working my socks off."
