The controversial finalist was notably absent from the star-studded party in London last night, which saw the judges, finalists and crew of The X Factor celebrating the latest series.
Maloney himself took to Twitter to explain away his absence, saying he was still unwell with a sore throat. One tweet yesterday (December 11) read: "Ello guys, thank u all so much for ur love and support over the months. I'm still unwell right now, your all truly amazing."
He later clarified that he had been invited by tweeting: "Thank u @TheXFactor for my ticket to the wrap party tonight in London. I'm still unwell, but see u all soon. thanks for making my dreams xx"
There were rumours that he might have been barred, following accusations from fellow contestant Carolynne Poole that he shouted swear words at her while backstage.
Show insiders are also alleging that Maloney turned up to the live final on Sunday night but was turned away because he was hungover, although the Liverpool singer insists that he was not there because his doctor had signed him off with a sore throat.
Meanwhile, The Sun has reported that bosses are considering replacing Maloney with Kye Sones on the X Factor tour. Their source said: "The other contestants have made no bones about the fact Kye was one of their best friends on the show and they would love him to tour.
"Nobody got on with Chris and after his outburst against Carolynne on Sunday, everyone is furious with him. They can't bear the thought of having to tour with Chris while Kye misses out."
