Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh selected their top three Overs and Boys that will perform live on next Saturday night's (October 12) first live episode.
Osbourne selected Shelley Smith, Sam Bailey and Lorna Simpson as her final three following their performances at her home in Los Angeles.
Robbie Williams helped her make the difficult decision, which saw Joseph Whelan, Andrea Magee and Zoe Devlin eliminated from the competition.
On the reaction to her appearance on the show, Smith said: "So far the reaction has been lovely. I'm very new to Twitter, but my feed went absolutely ballistic and I even had celebrities tweeting me!"
Bailey added: "Having Sharon as my mentor is amazing; she gave me a massive hug and even made me a cup of tea at her house. The whole thing still doesn't feel real to me."
Meanwhile, Walsh selected the final three boys in St Tropez with the help of Shane Filan, Sinitta and former All Saints star Nicole Appleton.
Luke Friend, Sam Callahan and Nicholas McDonald will represent the Boys category and compete in the live shows. However, Paul Akister, Giles Potter and Ryan Mathie were sent home.
Friend - who has attracted attention for his unusual hair - admitted: "Louis said that now I'm through to the live shows he would make me wash my hair, but I do wash it!
"I just don't wash it with soap. I wash it with water. It doesn't smell or anything, because otherwise that would be really horrible."
On getting through to the live shows, Callahan said: "I cannot wait to hear the 'Sam Callahan' voiceover and the audience when I walk out onto that stage for the first live show. That would really psych me up.
"I'm buzzing to get out there and show everyone what I'm made of!"
Gary Barlow and Nicole Scherzinger will pick the final three Groups and Girls tomorrow night (October 6) at 7.10pm on ITV.
The first live episode of The X Factor airs next Saturday (October 12) at 8pm.
