Shayne steps up security due to crazed fan

X Factor winner Shayne Ward is stepping up security to avoid being harassed by an obsessed fan.

The 'If That's Okay With You' singer was due to arrive at a HMV signing in Belfast today with extra security guards.

A source told the Daily Star: "He has asked his management to beef up the security because of a nightmare fan who has been making a bit of a nuisance of herself. She is a woman in her late 20s from South Yorkshire. And she has been continually bombarding his website and fan sites with messages sharing her deep feelings for him, mostly nice.

"But sometimes she does turn a bit and starts venting at people Shayne's been seen out and about with. She has also threatened to make 'mince meat' out of any woman who gets closer to Shayne than she does in Belfast. So understandably, Shayne's not taking any risks."
