Rhydian: 'X Factor' editing ruined my chances'

The 24-year-old from Powys, Wales, a classically-trained baritone vocalist, insisted that the arrogant way he appears onscreen makes him the favourite to be voted off Saturday's live show.
He told DS: "I really feel that I'll be going this week – I hope not – but I've prepared myself for a sing-off. Because of the kind of press coverage I've had and the way the show went, I'm the pantomime villain… If I was watching that show and I didn’t know who I was, I wouldn't vote for me on the basis of what I saw."
Over the weekend Roberts' parents complained that the show's editing has turned their son into a hate figure, a view which the contestant seconded. "I don't have any control about the way I'm edited. The TV company has taken it down a certain road – people have got certain stories, I don't, so they're making me into the villain," he said.
However, Roberts admitted that he is hoping to quash his conceited reputation on Saturday's show, saying: "I am confident as a singer, but I'm different as a person. Arrogance gets you nowhere in life… hopefully I can redeem myself in the live show.”
