Leona passes condolences for Etem Celebi

Leona Lewis has passed on her condolences to the family of Etem Celebi, who was shot dead in North London last night.

Lewis grew up in the same area of Hackney as Celebi, but has insisted that she didn't personally know him.

A spokeswoman for Lewis said: "Whilst Leona is devastated by the tragic news of the passing of teenager Etem Celebi, despite reports, she wasn't in fact a 'close childhood friend' and had
never actually met Etem.

"Leona passes on her condolences to Etem's family and friends at such a difficult time."

Celebi was killed after he was approached by two youths, who demanded to know his name and where he was from before shooting him.
