2009 Reality TV Stars No.6: Joe McElderry

Let's be honest, there is only one reason why Joe McElderry won this year's X Factor. No, it wasn't his uncanny knack of pulling off the big note in Elton John/Journey/George Michael covers. It was the fact that Geordie Joe was actually a really, really nice kid. In a year where the final 12 were packed with divas, wannabe rockers and strippers - Joe's smile and big teeth shined through.



Reality Bites had the pleasure of meeting Joe before the live shows and we can confirm that he is one of the sweetest boys you are ever likely to meet. Jovial, chatty and extremely polite, he was a million miles away from the usual fame-hungry and desperate sorts you associate with reality TV. Even if his debut single doesn't reach number one (damn you, Rage Against The Machine!), this young chap should have and deserves a long music career.
