Fantasy 'X Factor' week three - Make your predictions

By
After the dramatics of the first week (we could listen to Dermot O'Leary shrieking "Louis, now!" all day), the last edition of The X Factor was a rather subdued affair, with sweet but unexciting fairy woman Melanie Masson getting the boot.

Thank goodness then we had our fantasy X Factor to keep us occupied - waiting to see if our predictions came true really helped us get through it all. What do we think is in store this weekend? Read our guesses and make some of your own below!

Our points from last week:
We came so darn close to hoovering up a sweet 100 points with our elimination prediction of District3 last week. They were in the bottom two, and it went to deadlock and everything! But no, we were denied a week of looking smug when Melanie Masson, who was actually our choice for elimination in the first week, went home instead. Should have stuck to our guns...

We thought predicting an Adele cover for 'Love and Heartbreak' week would win us some easy points too, but incredibly we got two Amy Winehouse songs, that old romantic Kanye West and Deee-Lite's 'Groove Is in the Heart' instead. 21 is sooo 2011.

Luckily though, we were spot on with our prediction that Rylan Clark would take the mickey out of Gary Barlow in his song - and lets face it, nothing could have hurt Mr Ego more than murdering the opening few bars of Take That's 'Back For Good'. Well played, Rylan.

Total points so far: 150

This week's elimination: 100 points
It's 'Club Classics' week this week and we can't help feeling that maybe this could be Lucy Spraggan's undoing. You can't throw shapes with a guitar in your hand, after all. It's probably still too early for her to exit, but we wouldn't be surprised to see her in the bottom two and maybe going home against an inferior opponent in the judges' vote if Cowell really wants to get people's backs up.

Rylan and District3 are obvious choices as the previous bottom two survivors, but we think both of them will scrape through this week. Rylan will be in his element belting out Groove Armada, or whatever, and we get the feeling that viewers are starting to warm to him a little bit. District3, meanwhile, will probably be okay for no other reason than people will make more of an effort to save them after last week.

Instead, we reckon it'll be one of the also-rans who end up going home this week, and it seems like Kye Sones and Jade Ellis are the two that have excited casual viewers the least. We're going to predict that Kye will be the one sent packing, since Jade will likely smash 'Club Classics' week and the sadist in us likes the idea of watching Team GB disintegrate.

Gary Barlow

Gary vs Rylan - round two: 50 points
We've resigned ourselves to the fact that for as long as they're both on The X Factor - and at this stage we genuinely don't know which one will leave first - every week will be geared towards a Rylan/Barlow bitch-off, and their jibes are only going to be getting more contrived and 'outrageous' as the competition rolls on.

Most would agree that Barlow won the first round of handbags with his remark about having a taxi waiting for Rylan since The X Factor began - will the plucky young contender from Essex come up with a superior quip this week? For correctly guessing which of the warring duo lands the knockout punch, you'll receive 50 points - we're not being too generous because presumably most of you will, like us, have noticed that Barlow never lets anyone have the last word.

Cliché of the week: 100 points
We would have bet our life savings on someone performing 'Gangnam Style' during the 'Club Classics' show, but of course Rylan beat everyone to the punch by pulling it out for... er... 'Love and Heartbreak' week.

Since the equivalent episode in 2011 featured everything from the Jackson 5 to the Black Eyed Peas, we're not confident enough to pick out a specific song or artist. What we are certain of though is that there will be something that 'Uncle' Louis Walsh has never heard of. We'll be taking 100 points every time his lack of knowledge about some hip tune betrays that youthful new hairdo.
