In a Digital Spy poll last week to find out who you would like to see in this year's new-look panel, Cole fought for your love and won.
Chezza came out on top with over 21.9% of the vote and proved that despite a seemingly never ending reel of tabloid headlines about her love life, her relationship with Simon Cowell and her latest haircut/break of wind/choice of underwear, you haven't totally tired of her yet.
The most frequent complaint we get at Digital Spy is that we feature too much Cheryl. "She pays you to write these stories" (we wish). "Slow news day DS." "Yawn!" Yet, despite these gripes and moans, she still tops your X Factor judge dream list.
Simon Cowell would no doubt be criticised for his lack of imagination if he digs out Chezza's phone number from his little black book, but would he just be meeting public demand? Would hiring somebody else show that Cowell no longer had his finger on the pulse of the public mood?
In fact there is very little support for anyone entirely new to join the show. Robbie Williams is the closest, with nearly 9% voting for the 'Rudebox' songsmith to join the ITV extravaganza. But the likes of Kylie, Emile Sandé and Simon Cowell's outlandish suggestion of David Bowie barely registered on your radar.
A recall for Sharon Osbourne would be popular (she picked up 19%) and Dannii Minogue's name is still in the mix with 16.2%. Mel B is hotly rumoured to be in the running, but last year's guest judge is lagging behind with 14.8%. Too scary and not enough spice?
Personally, we'd love a total overhaul of the X Factor panel with only the Jahmazing Scherzinger remaining. We'd pull in Robbie, drag back Cowell from his LA mansion and bankrupt ITV by hiring Cher for the fourth hot seat. Hey, we can dream.
Do you think there's any chance of Cheryl returning? Would she be good for the show? Let us know below!
