Strictly Come Dancing

Strictly Come Dancing

Following in the (quick)steps of Come Dancing, the BBC's long-running ballroom dancing show, Strictly Come Dancing has now been a Saturday night light entertainment staple for over a decade, maintaining a healthy ratings rivalry with The X Factor on ITV.

Celebrity contestants team up with professional partners and perform a ballroom or Latin routine each week, hoping to win over viewers and the judging panel - Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli. Previous celebrity champions include Natasha Kaplinsky, Alesha Dixon (who went on to become a Strictly judge for three series), Darren Gough, McFly star Harry Judd and model Abbey Clancy.

Series 12 will be hosted by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, following the announcement that Bruce Forsyth will step down from the main show. This year's 15-strong celebrity lineup includes former TOWIE star Mark Wright, singers Pixie Lott, Simon Webbe and Frankie Bridge, broadcasters Caroline Flack and Scott Mills, MasterChef's Gregg Wallace and tennis coach Judy Murray, mother of Jamie and Andy Murray.
