Forsyth mocks Arlene's 'Strictly' crushes

Strictly Come Dancing host Bruce Forsyth has claimed that Arlene Phillips will be eyeing up the show's new batch of male celebrities.

Bruce predicted that judge Arlene will not be able to help herself if producers have signed up sportsmen for the next series.

"I can't wait to see who the next sportsmen are who Arlene will have a crush on," Bruce told The Mirror. "She's bound to have a crush on somebody. I suppose she goes for sportsmen because they have so much stamina."

Strictly returns to BBC One for a 14-week run later this year. A spokesman recently told DS that viewers can expect all four judges to reprise their roles, following press speculation that this would not be the case.

Forsyth's own long-term future with the show has also been seen as uncertain, but his co-host Tess Daly recently described rumours of a retirement as "disrespectful".
