The 79-year-old is already one of the favourites to win the upcoming season, according to PageSix.
A source said: "Adam is in outstanding shape. He works out an hour a day and walks with his big dog on his farm in Sun Valley, Idaho."
The actor's representative stated: "[He is] not definite yet, but is one of the people they are seriously looking at. They will decide on everyone on August 25."
West, who played Batman in the 1960s TV series, currently voices an alternative version of himself in cartoon comedy Family Guy.
Actor Tom Selleck, singer Toni Braxton and former 'N Sync star Lance Bass are also rumoured to be taking part in the show's seventh season.
