Stephenson waiting to hear about 'Strictly'

Debra Stephenson has admitted that she is still waiting to hear back from the producers of Strictly Come Dancing.

The actress, who played Frankie Baldwin in Coronation Street, met with BBC bosses in June to discuss joining the show's lineup.

However, she told Teletext that no definite arrangement has been made, saying: "No-one's called me. There's been so much speculation about me being on it, maybe the producers think I've already done it."

Other names rumoured to be taking part in the upcoming sixth series include Anthony Costa, Apprentice contestant Alex Wotherspoon, Hollyoaks star Ricky Whittle, singer Heather Small and TV presenter Melanie Sykes.

The new series of Strictly Come Dancing begins in September.
