Warrington was ready for 'Strictly' axe
Don Warrington has revealed that he did not expect to be saved by the judges on Strictly Come Dancing at the weekend.

The actor competed against former EastEnders star Phil Daniels in the dance-off after they found themselves in the bottom two. Although Craig Revel Horwood and Arlene Phillips then voted for Phil to stay in the competition, backing from Bruno Tonioli and head judge Len Goodman, who has the deciding vote in the event of a tie, secured Warrington's place.

Speaking on spinoff show It Takes Two about facing the judges' vote, Warrington explained: "I thought that was it. I accepted that and I thought: 'OK, OK, I tried but that's it'. Then suddenly out of the blue came Len."

Asked if he deserved to be in the bottom two, Don replied: "I don't know, I can't answer that. I thought we did pretty well in the circumstances so I was rather surprised. But you know, they know more than I do, I suppose."

Strictly continues on Saturday at 6.45pm on BBC One.
