'Strictly' Heather: 'I'll vote for John'

Heather Small has revealed that she is supporting John Sergeant now that she has left Strictly Come Dancing.

Small said that she will be watching the show this week and voting for the journalist, whose popularity with the public has seen him sail through in the competition despite poor scores.

"I'll be voting for John," she told Claudia Winkleman on spinoff It Takes Two. "I'd like to see John in the final with Lisa [Snowdon]."

The M People star was voted off the show on Sunday, with the panel of judges opting to save Rachel Stevens after the dance-off.

Her dance partner Brian Fortuna said he is sad to be leaving the competition, especially as Small has been improving week-by-week.

"It's disappointing to see such improvement in Heather [but] it's good to go out with a bang. I felt we went out and did the best we could do," he said.

Small agreed, adding that she "really enjoyed" her time on the show.
