Stevens backs Sergeant's 'Strictly' exit

Rachel Stevens has backed John Sergeant's decision to quit Strictly Come Dancing.

The former S Club singer said it was his "personal decision" to leave the show after being heavily criticised by the judges.

"I think it was a personal decision for him, we all respected him for that," she told BBC News.

"It was a shame that he left, he was doing great. He was entertaining, and its about entertaining everyone. It was his decision."

Stevens also revealed that her fiancé Alex Bourne has helped her get this far in the competition.

"He's such a massive part of this experience with me. Vincent and him are like two women together, they gossip and have properly bonded," she said.
