The show's bosses are "finalising the small print" on a contract with Alesha Dixon to join the panel, according to The Sun.
"It's great news. We're just ironing out the finer points - most importantly how much she will be paid," said a source.
It was first reported last month that the BBC wanted to replace Phillips, 66, and "inject some youthful glamour" into the show. The BBC and Dixon did not deny the rumours at the time, but insisted that nothing was confirmed.
Dixon, who won the show in 2007, has a number of autumn tour dates, which would have to be rescheduled if she takes on the role.
