'Strictly' pros 'to have pay increase'
The Strictly Come Dancing professionals will receive a modest pay increase this year, say reports.

According to The Sun, the dancers will get an extra £4,200 for working two extra shows, which will air at the start of the series.

The news contradicts earlier tabloid reports that their pay may be reduced by BBC producers.

"The feeling was that the professional dancers already get a fairly modest pay deal and they do a lot of the actual work," said a source.

"While they are to all intents and purposes 'talent', the dancers are really more like staff as their dance partners are the main attraction. Collectively, the dancers still get less than Brucie so you could hardly accuse them of being greedy."

Camilla Dallerup, Karen Hardy and Hayley Holt will not return for the upcoming seventh series, while Lithuanian Katya Virshilas and Australian Natalie Lowe have reportedly signed up as replacements.
