The former ballet dancer joined the celebrity dance contest this year as a guest judge at the quarter final stage.
Bussell told Metro: "It's nervewracking to come into a show which is so well established but I've always loved watching it.
"It's a great celebration of dance, which is what I'm all about. I love watching the professionals."
She added of the dancers: "To me it's all about performance value, you don't want to watch someone who is too nervous. You want to enjoy the performance. I'm very critical, that's been my life, I can't help it.
"I want them to go away and improve, though, not think, 'I've got no hope'. They're under a lot of pressure and are very nervous so I don't want to say, 'You haven't made any improvement, what are you doing?'."
