'Come Dancing' star twists ankle
Published Saturday, Oct 22 2005, 14:31 BST | By Daniel Kilkelly
Strictly Come Dancing star Bill Turnbull has twisted his ankle during rehearsals for the show.
The BBC Breakfast host now has a limp, but is deciding to overcome the pain and carry on with the contest.
"We were practising by jumping over boxes and I landed badly. I have been to the doctor and have been given the all-clear to dance," Bill told Breakfast viewers yesterday. "It is very painful and I'm not looking forward to limping around but I'm going to go for it."
A spokesman for the series told the Daily Star, "We're not sure what we will do if Bill's injury should get worse or rule him out of the show because it's a problem we've not had to face before."
Turnbull suffered from back pain in the run-up to the first episode last week.
