The ex-Holby City actress confessed that she was ready to leave the competition last week after making a massive timing error during her quickstep. Kensit and her pro partner Robin Windsor only picked up 24 points for the routine.
Speaking about the mishap on Saturday, she told It Takes Two: "It was hilarious and I know it looked really appalling, but I had a good time.
"I'm amazed that I'm here. I'm shocked that anyone picked up the phone and voted for me. And it means that we can now go out there and get it wrong again!"
Speaking about this week's Charleston routine, she added: "It's full-on again, but really, really good fun. I'm loving it. We've had the best fun in rehearsals this week, better than any other week.
"I think it's a really happy, up dance and it's a character dance. I did the Great Gatsby film when I was 4, and I'm basing it on the character I played in that. It's so nice to have that concept as an actress. And if it is our last dance, then at least it will be a really happy one."
Strictly continues on Saturday at 6pm on BBC One.
