The clinical psychologist, who presents BBC interview series Shrink Rap, says she is hoping for the chance to interview Widdecombe when she begins filming for her new series.
"Oh yes, Ann would be great," Stephenson told The Sun. "She'd be amazing because she has such strong views and convictions."
"The only thing is she's a politician, so she's probably quite guarded when it comes to very personal stuff," the Strictly star warned. "But if she said yes, I'd love to do it."
Widdecombe is notoriously private about her personal life, having never married or had any children.
