Robbie Savage has claimed that he is finding Strictly Come Dancing "mentally draining".

The footballer said that the training for the BBC One reality show was much tougher than his days as a professional sportsman.

"It's surprised me how difficult it is. I'm just shattered," he said.

"I trained three hours a day for football. High intensity, sprinting everywhere, making tackles, this is mentally draining. I still haven't got it.

"On a football pitch, on a set-piece you may have to know how you're standing or what you're doing, but here it is absolutely every single thing... And my hair gets in my eyes."
