The Capital Breakfast presenter, who finished third with dance partner Brendan Cole in 2008, admitted to Digital Spy that it took her a year to fall back in love with the show.
Speaking before the BBC unveiled this year's stars yesterday, Snowdon said: "I'm excited. I'm always excited to see who they're going to have on the show and see how they dance and then how they progress really because it's so entertaining to watch."
She continued: "I have to be honest, the first year after I was in it... it's hard to watch a show that you've been in and been really close to.
"I'm back into it now completely. I absolutely love it, but the first year I was like, 'I wanna do it again!'. It wasn't the same watching it."
Snowdon added: "The last series I absolutely loved. I just thought that Kara [Tointon] was fantastic and I loved Chris Hollins and I just thought there was some great competitors. Some great performers.
"I love it and I also love X Factor, so it's quite hard at the weekends. I'm channel hopping and Sky+ing and that kind of thing.
"Last year the BBC put it on slightly earlier than X Factor, and I'm hoping they're going to do that again, but you never know."
Lisa Snowdon is gearing up for a charity abseil to help launch personalised text codes from JustTextGiving by Vodafone. From today people can sign up for their own free personalised fundraising text code at justtextgiving.com
Strictly Come Dancing will launch this Saturday at 6.10pm on BBC One.
