Darcey Bussell later signed up to replace Dixon as a permanent judge on the show.
Cole explained that he believes the former Royal Ballet principal dancer will be a "fantastic" replacement.
"I saw Alesha on BGT. She did really well. However, I don't think she will be a big miss, really," he told The Sun.
"I am very excited about Darcey Bussell. She is probably the most famous dancer in the country and is going to be on the panel judging us, which is fantastic."
On his "bad boy of the ballroom" nickname and his falling out with celebrity partner Lulu, he added: "I don't know why I have that nickname. I'm such a nice person on the telly with my partner.
"I've had a great couple of years. I don't think I've had an argument in the last four years - I don't talk about Lulu - I mean in the years before that."
Alesha Dixon recently said that she hopes to return for a second series of Britain's Got Talent next year.
