Riley said at the recording of the launch show: "We'll see what Craig says [about my dancing]. But whatever he says, I can throw a good punch and I'm from the North so he should be afraid."
She also said that she is excited about the costumes she will get to wear on the show, explaining: "All the characters I've played are mingers, so this is wonderful. Hair extensions, tans, glitter - it's brilliant.
"I'm in make-up for an hour and half just trying everything."
Riley additionally quipped that she is taking part in Strictly Come Dancing "for the chubbas", adding: "I want to be funky and shake my thing. It's a big thing, but I want to shake it."
Strictly Come Dancing debuts on Saturday, September 15 at 6.30pm on BBC One.
